Benefits of a raw food and Vegan diet?

Are you toying with the idea of improving the health of your mind, body and spirit? Are you, or do you know of anyone who is, wondering how to best go about incorporating more raw and living foods into the overall picture? Maybe you’ve experimented with this fantastic way of eating in the past, fell off the wagon, and are trying to get back on? Or maybe you’ve been raw for a while and desire some renewed inspiration? If you’ve answered yes to any of the above questions, then I strongly recommend that you focus your mind entirely on this section, and read on!

We humans can decide for a variety of different reasons that the time is right for us to start eating in a more natural way.
During the period of time that man has taken to evolve and edge dramatically into the speed of modern day living, we’ve become further and further removed from living our lives the way nature intended. We have become less intuitive, less spontaneous and less connected to what our bodies want and need. If we were to make comparisons between the fast paced life of the average city dweller and the life of someone living in full balance and harmony with nature, hectic modern day living dictates that we are worlds away from this ideal and in some extraordinary cases, bear absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to this idyllic lifestyle! With this in mind, it’s a sure sad fact that humans have developed the brain function and ability needed to send an astronaut to the moon and back, yet they can be purely incapable, ‘unable’ and intolerant of looking after and nurturing themselves in the only way that nature ever intended. Priorities seem to currently place technology before health and individual well-being. Living and caring for ourselves and our families in a natural way should far exceed any other practice.

What to include
Eating a diet of natural foods, including the following, is the optimum way to improve your overall health and happiness -
- fresh fruits (organic, local / seasonal where possible)
- fresh vegetables (organic, local / seasonal where possible)
- nuts
- seeds
- superfoods
- sprouted peas, beans and wholegrains
- juices
- smoothies

Eat food for humans
When we nourish our bodies in this way, we are actually feeding ourselves foods that are designed for human consumption. This may sound a little strange at first, but it's true - much of the 'food' consumed on the standard UK and American diets, is not fit for human consumption at all. This includes refined, processed, saturated fat and cholestrol filled foods.
We, as humans, are the only species on earth that play around with our food; for one example, by putting fire to it before eating it, thus making us the unhealthiest species around today. We need to look at ways in which we can live and nourish ourselves in a more natural way. This is the one underlying factor that can have miraculous consequences on our health, as a nation.
Valuing your health
'We,’ as a western society have become so obsessed with the latest gadgets, the fastest cars, the biggest houses and the coolest clothes, that we seemed to have pushed how to care for ourselves properly, right to the back of our minds, if not right out of our head altogether! Although there is a definite place for some or all of these interests in most of our lives, it's paramount to re-learn, if necessary, how to be free and wild again! Only then are we able to value the truly important aspects of our life - our optimum health and our genuine happiness. With these two vital ingredients in abundance, we are then able to move forward with a clear head, active mind and a spring in our step!

Love the benefits
When we take responsibility and control of our diet and lifestyle, and live in harmony with our natural surroundings, the benefits are second to none. You can look forward to experiencing -
