About the event

The raw food coaching week was a fantastic opportunity for like-minded people to get together, and learn lots of useful, life-changing information about food. Based in beautiful, sunny Menorca within the grounds of the island's oldest working farm, this really was the idyllic place to relax, unwind, and be educated.

As the sun bore down, the guests, the Ananda team and I workied our way through an action-packed, full on programme. No detail was left un-turned, so the guests finished each day more enlightened and motivated than ever.

Yoga featured highly on the healthy eating programme of extra-curricular activities. Every morning and some afternoons, guests had the option of participating in an invigorating class. The yoga studio overlooked the pool, which really was the most fantastic area of the resort. Filled with large arch windows, allowing the light to flood into the room, was it's strong selling point.

The workshops

The workshops were full of fantasic information, tips and recommendations. This included sessions run by Jess Michael on the superfoods and related recipes, raw chocolate, sweetie demos, super-smoothie demos, the raw food lifestyle, and many more interesting subjects.

The guests came hungry for raw food and information, and this is exactly what they got, and more!

The retreat's policies

Environment

We are committed to protecting and respecting the natural environment in which we are operating and encourage guests to do the same. We minimise our waste, recycling and composting where possible.

Carbon Emissions

We ask guests to provide us with their travel details so we can calculate their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from travel to the retreat. We will compensate for these emissions by supporting CO2 reduction programmes via CeroCO2, a Spanish based climate change initiative. CeroCO2 will calculate the emissions and compensate for them by directing the investment into reforestation programmes in Costa Rica and a renewable energy programme in Colombia. For further details please visit www.ceroco2.org

Water

The property has its own fresh spring well, and the water is said to come underground through limestone from the Pyrenees. The tap water is safe to drink as we have our own well with an ultra violet system and charcoal filters.

Natural products

All the cleaning products and toiletries we use on site are natural, organic and free from harmful chemicals. We also sell a selection of natural products to guests (such as natural sun lotions, oils and supplements)

Food

Fresh organic fruit and vegetables, sourced locally, are used to make the juices and food. We are working with the Menorcan Organic Association to source as much of the fruit and vegetables from certified organic farmers in Menorca, however in some cases we will need to get supplies from further afield. We always endeavour to buy organic where the option is available.

A big thank you to everyone involved for this truely inspiring programme!
