About Vegan Families & Friends
We are proud to bring you the very best in vegan friendly support and education, aimed at families and individuals alike. Each month there will be a guest speaker sharing their cutting edge knowledge and research on all aspects and areas of the vegan lifestyle.
Relax and make friends whilst your children enjoy a range of activities aimed at unlocking their creativity.
Pot Luck Lunch
Please bring a vegan friendly or raw vegan friendly dish to share as part of a buffet style lunch!
There will be a pot luck style lunch at each meet up presented on two tables; a standard vegan food spread and a raw vegan spread. We ask that ALL dishes are clearly labelled with ALL food ingredients. This is an essential requirement in respect of allergy sufferers, health seekers and those that are curious as to what they are eating.
The Day's timings
We aim to eat together at 12.30 and the talk will start at 1.15pm and then there will be time for dessert/cake eating etc and more socialising until 3pm.
Ticket prices
The cost will be £2.50 per adult (£5 per couple) plus £1 per child over 2yrs old, and for single parent families it will be £3 (adult & children included).
What should I bring?
Here are a list of raw food ideas to help you decide:
- Fresh, dried, dehydreated fruits
- Fresh, dehydrated vegetables
- Nuts and seeds - in their natural state, as butters, oils, or milks
- Superfoods - such as Spirulina, Maca, Aloe etc
- Raw cakes - Fruit based, raw cacao, mequite etc
Location and Directions
We are proud to be hosting this special event at the heart of Falmer, a beautfiful village 3 miles outside Brighton.
During the summer months there will be the option to be outside amongst a lovely duck pond.
It's very easy to get to by car or bus from Brighton - the University bus No.25 goes to Falmer and is very regular. Falmer train station is close by too. Falmer itself is located off the A27 coming from either Eastbourne or the A23/M23 south (if travelling from London). Simply exit on the B2123 and take the second exit if coming from the A23 and the first exit if coming from Eastbourne direction.
Then it is the first left opposite the University entrance (also the new build football stadium). Simply drive until you see Falmer Village Hall on the right.
April's Event and the Forum
April's event will be on Sunday 4th April (Easter Sunday) at the same time and place. We also have an online forum where you can chat with other members in the group.
The group URL is http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/veganfamiliesbrighton/
We look forward to seeing you on there!
